We'll start with text-only novels, novellas, and short stories. In the future we hope to include illustrations or images in the body of the story, as well as comics, graphic novels, and manga. If you wish to provide an author image, please add this to your author page through Author Central.

Why does my work have to be at least 5,000 words?

What languages does Kindle Worlds support?

We accept stories in English. We hope to add additional languages in the future.

What file format do I submit?

For best results, we recommend that you upload a Word file or DOC/DOCX (.doc/.docx), RTF, or TXT.

What about editing?

We will not materially change the content of your Kindle Worlds story. We encourage you to copyedit and proofread your own work carefully, perhaps seeking help from others depending on where your skills lie. Quality matters to readers and is often reflected in customer reviews.

Will my work be available in physical formats?

Stories will be available in digital format exclusively on, Kindle devices, iOS, Android, and PC/Mac via our Kindle Free Reading apps. We plan to offer additional formats in the future.

Do all titles come through the Kindle Worlds Self-Service Submission Platform?

In some instances, Amazon Publishing will commission authors and pay advances for new Kindle Worlds stories.
