How does the cover process work?
A great cover will help attract an audience for your story, so we've built tools and licensed images for you to work with in our Cover Creator tool. You can choose from over a thousand images (all free to you) that we have licensed or secured. More images are added regularly. You can also upload your own artwork for select Worlds. Once you have selected or uploaded your image, you will be able to choose from a number of design templates for the placement of your title and name. The Kindle Worlds logo will be included on every cover as well, which will help identify your book for readers.
If you choose to upload your own cover image, there are some very important things you need to know and with which you need to comply. You must own the copyright or have the necessary rights for any image you upload. Do not upload an image that you found on the web or other sources unless you have verified that you have the right to use it. Kindle Worlds does not include the right to use any images related to the World (e.g., a photo of the actors from the related show; a still or screen capture from a video or game; a cover image from the book; a photo of the original World author or creator) other than those images provided in the Cover Creator. If you take your own photo with other people in it, you must have appropriate model releases. We do not accept images that violate the Content Guidelines.
We recommend that you use the latest version of Firefox or Chrome for the best experience with our Cover Creator tool. Internet Explorer users may experience issues in using this tool. All title submission information is saved before Cover Creator is launched, and can be found in your dashboard.
Can I just keep the "No Image Available" box?
No, we believe that creates a poor experience for readers when they shop and manage titles on their Kindle devices and apps.
